Does this trade make sense for the Oklahoma City Thunder?

There are only so many draft picks that Oklahoma City could continue to compile. This is something they have done over the years in trades involving stars like Russell Westbrook and Paul George. Now, those picks can be used to create a duo to build around for the future.

Michael Porter Jr. was one of the best players in his class entering the league but his injury concern dropped him to the middle of the first round. Since becoming healthy, Porter Jr. has shown that he has great potential and a high ceiling in the league.

This is something that Oklahoma City should be looking to put next to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who has already solidified himself as a franchise point guard. He has also been thrown into NBA trade rumors but if the Thunder hang onto him, take a look to add some more fire power.

There isn’t a need for the Thunder to move on from Luguentz Dort, of course. This is more of a matter of receiving an attractive offer for a player during a long-term rebuild and being willing to say ‘yes’ to the intriguing package that is available.
