Does this trade make sense for the Denver Nuggets?
The Denver Nuggets clearly missed Jamal Murray in this postseason and that led to a second-round exit in the postseason. Things could have been different if the team had its point guard and next year, they could have two All-Star caliber guards in the lineup if a trade is made.
The Nuggets would be able to use Ben Simmons in a different way. He would not have to run the offense or be a primary scorer. He would still need to a show a willingness to shoot standstill jump shots, but regardless, could cut and be the recipient of passes from Nikola Jokic.
Having the passing ability of Simmons as a cutter could make for some incredible ball movement throughout the flow of the Nuggets offense. It would help to have Simmons be a ball screener for Jamal Murray, too.
Ben Simmons has shown that he is a strong defender and can handle the ball well. He is a next-level passer but has not figured out how to put the ball in the basket. Simmons would benefit in going to a team that would not need him to do this as often. That is where the Nuggets seem like the perfect fit.

The Nuggets could look to add another piece to make it a big three if they want to continue to rise in the Western Conference. This would give them one of the best lineups in the league, especially if they are able to develop Simmons in a different way.
