Does this trade make sense for the New York Knicks?

Any trade in which the Knicks get Karl-Anthony Towns without giving up Julius Randle or R.J. Barrett makes sense for them. Creating their own version of a “Big 3” would be the ultimate goal of New York by trading for Towns and they would still have plenty of cap space to not only re-sign guys like Derrick Rose, Reggie Bullock and Alec Burks, but potentially go after a guy like Lonzo Ball too!

This offseason is going to be very exciting for the New York Knicks not only because they can target any player they want, but because a ton of players will actually consider signing with them since they proved that they can win games finally.

Losing Obi Toppin definitely is a hit to the Knicks’ future value, as is giving up both of their first-round picks this year, but Karl-Anthony Towns still is that “once in a generation” type of talent at the center position.

Not many centers in the league are his size, as athletic and have his ability to score. There are guys that are the same size as him, the same athleticism as him and have the same high-level scoring ability, but not all three of them combined!

This is why KAT is a special player and why he would be so valuable to the New York Knicks. At the end of the day, when you look at the Knicks and what they could potentially do this offseason, those two first-round picks that they have are not going to be the difference in them winning a playoff series next year.

Sure, they could provide the Knicks with depth and two young players to build with and grow into really solid players over the years, but at the end of the day, Karl-Anthony Towns will do more than all three of the first-round picks that the Knicks have combined.

Trading for KAT is the best move that the New York Knicks could make as an organization and as stated before, they should make this trade no matter the cost of future assets. He is too good of a talent to pass up on and could be the difference in the Knicks getting back into the championship discussion for the first-time since the 80’s and 90’s.
