For five consecutive years from 2016-20, the Indiana Pacers made the NBA playoffs and lost in the first-round, so they decided to move on from head coach Nate McMillan last offseason and replace him with Nate Bjorkgren.

Now, Bjorkgren is out after just one season in Indiana and McMillan is the interim head coach of the Atlanta Hawks, who are in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Oh, and to top it all off, the Pacers missed the playoffs for the first-time since 2015 this year! Injuries played a big role in this year’s Indiana team missing the playoffs, but all-in-all they will have some issues to short out in the offseason, starting with hiring a new head coach that can help them win now.

While they may not be viewed as one by many NBA fans, the Indiana Pacers are definitely a contending team roster-wise in the Eastern Conference.

Domantas Sabonis, Malcolm Brogdon, Caris LeVert, T.J. Warren and Myles Turner make up one of the best starting rotations in the league, but they need to be healthy, which was the problem this year.

There are going to be a ton of question marks surrounding the Pacers in the offseason and it is expected that they will look to make some kind of a trade, but who will they be looking to give up.

With Dennis Schroder being a free agent and Los Angeles “ring hunting” right now, Brogdon is a guy that they could add and immediately get better on both ends of the court. But, do the Lakers have the assets that the Pacers would want in return for a player like Malcolm Brogdon?
