What to expect from the OKC Thunder this offseason?

This offseason is going to be really fun for Oklahoma City and their fans because they will be introducing the next generation of this team and their core of the future. With the high first-round picks that they will have in the draft, the Thunder will be adding some of the best young talents entering the league to their roster already containing guys like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luguentz Dort and Darius Bazley, all of which are high-potential, young players.

This next generation of Thunder players is going to be quite impressive and with a proven All-Star like Kemba Walker now leading them, the Oklahoma City Thunder are going to surprise a lot of people heading into the 2021-22 season.

The Thunder are going to be projected to finish as one of the bottom teams in the Western Conference once again, but if they end up with two Top-5 picks, then this team could be a borderline playoff team and possibly make the play-in tournament next season.

The phrase, “success does not happen overnight” applies to the NBA in many ways, but for Oklahoma City, success could very well come overnight for them depending on how things play out in the NBA Draft.

This year’s draft sets the tone for the future of this franchise and given that the Top-5 players in this year’s draft class all have All-Star potential, the Thunder could wind up with multiple diamonds heading their way!

Oklahoma City has been “rebuilding” since Durant and Westbrook left, but Sam Presti is one of the best general managers in the entire NBA. As a result, he not only has this team on the verge of becoming something truly special, but has them in a position to excel for at least the next decade or two.
