Boston Celtics, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

It has been a whirlwind of an NBA offseason for the Boston Celtics already, with more moves on the horizon. Upon elimination in the first round of the playoffs, Danny Ainge stepped down as the President of Basketball Operations. Brad Stevens would be named as his replacement, leaving a void at head coach.

The Celtics have been conducting coaching interviews already, and there are candidates they still plan to meet with in the future. Besides the front office turnover, Boston didn’t waste any time in moving on from Kemba Walker. In a rare trade during the playoffs, Walker was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, along with Boston’s 2021 first-round pick and a 2025 second-rounder.

In exchange, the Celtics received Al Horford, Moses Brown, and a 2023 second-round pick. Seeing that Boston had to include a first-round pick to rid of Walker, it shows that there wasn’t much of a market for the veteran point guard.

Nevertheless, the Celtics can begin looking toward their future of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. It is vital for Boston to do whatever they can this offseason to surround Tatum and Brown with more talent.

Aside from targeting players in NBA free agency, these are a few trades that the Boston Celtics should pursue this offseason in hopes to build a contending roster in the Eastern Conference.
