The Portland Trail Blazers are at a crossroad after being eliminated in the first round of the NBA playoffs by the Denver Nuggets. The team would love to keep Damian Lillard as their cornerstone player and find pieces to build around him.
Besides Damian Lillard, there could be changes in the works, which could involve a trade that includes CJ McCollum. He accounts for such a significant portion of the Trail Blazers’ salary cap spending, which makes him a prime candidate to be moved.

McCollum has been a solid No. 2 option to Lillard in the past six seasons, but it hasn’t turned into playoff success for the Trail Blazers. The former first-round pick out of Lehigh has posted six consecutive seasons of 20+ points per game and he’s made 39.8 percent of his three-point attempts in his career.
Finding a two-guard that can create his own shot and space the floor with his shooting is invaluable in today’s NBA. If CJ McCollum were made available, there were be a handful of teams that would make sense for the veteran guard.
