San Antonio Spurs Receive: F Ben Simmons
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G Dejounte Murray, F Devin Vassell, G Lonnie Walker IV, 2021 first-round picks, and 2023 first-round pick
The San Antonio Spurs seem like a wild-card destination for Simmons but nothing is off the table at this point. If the Sixers are looking to move their point guard, they will take a look at any option, especially one out of the Eastern Conference. Simmons still has plenty of value and Philadelphia could be looking to take advantage of it.
In return, they would get an immediate replacement in Dejounte Murray. He has shown his ability as a starting guard and would be able to set up Embiid well. Devin Vassell and Lonnie Walker IV, along with draft capital, would also be going to Philadelphia as they look to gain some assets.

From a salary cap perspective, the 76ers would clear $9.0 million in salary cap obligations for the 2021-22 season after taking on Dejounte Murray ($15.2M), Lonnie Walker ($4.4M), and Devin Vassell ($4.2m). Ben Simmons is in the first season of a five-year, $177.2 million contract extension and will earn roughly $33 million next season.
Let’s take a closer look and see how this deal would benefit both sides right away.
