Chris Paul has been proving why he may be the best point guard ever

In Game 1 of the first-round against the Los Angeles Lakers, Chris Paul injured his right shoulder and did not look like the same player for most of the series. He was in visible pain and could not move his right arm/shoulder as well as he wanted to, resulting in the Suns dropping Games 2 and 3 to the Lakers.

However, as the series progressed, Paul started finding ways to overcome this injury and was able to help give his team the edge later on in this series, resulting in the Suns defeating the defending champs 4-2 to face the Nuggets in the Western Conference Semifinals.

All eyes were on Paul’s shoulder and his health heading into this series, but the future Hall-of-Fame point guard quickly halted all talks about his health when he went out in Game 1 and dominated the Nuggets.

In this series against the Nuggets, Chris Paul averaged 25.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 10.3 assists and shot 62.7% from the floor, 75% from three-point range. Not to mention, Paul only turned the ball over 5 times in total against the Nuggets!

In the playoffs, Chris Paul now has a total of 87 assists and only has 14 turnovers, giving him an extremely high assist-to-turnover ratio of 6.2:1, which is the best out of any starting point guard in the playoffs this year.

Paul also holds the best Player Efficiency Rating (20.15) on the Suns in the playoffs and has one of the best plus-minus ratios out of any player still playing in the playoffs, with a +/- of +75. Chris Paul has been a mystro his entire career in terms of making any team’s offense that he is a part of efficient and he has continued to do the same with the Phoenix Suns.

Having a guy in Devin Booker by his side definitely helps, but Paul has been able to not only get the Suns starters of Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder involved offensively, but guys like Cam Payne, Cam Johnson and even Torrey Craig off-the-bench. Making plays is what Paul does and given how well he has been playing, he is proving to everyone that he is the best point guard in these playoffs.

Having great play from the point guard position in the playoffs is a key to winning a championship and for the Suns, they have arguably the best point guard in the history of the NBA. Chris Paul is a man on a mission right now and he has the Suns positioned as the best team remaining in the playoffs.
