Does this trade make sense for the Minnesota Timberwolves?

This trade would benefit the Timberwolves in many ways. They can switch gears to building their team around Anthony Edwards, who looked like the real deal after a strong rookie season. They would also land a ton of draft capital along with some proven players to pair with their young star.

Christian Wood is the type of big man that fits in well in any system. He’s a dynamic rim roller that can step out and shoot in addition to being a legitimate rim protector. DJ Augustin could be a back up point guard to mentor of the younger generation.

Most importantly, the Timberwolves have not won with Karl-Anthony Towns so trading him should not hurt too much. It seems like it is getting close to the time where Minnesota should consider landing a haul for their star. If they get one like this, they could pull the trigger.
