After being 14-20 at the NBA All-Star break this season, many believe the Wizards season was done, including yours truly, but they turned things around in a hurry during the second-half of the year, made their way to the play-in tournament and won the 8-seed to go to the playoffs for the first-time since 2018.

Led by Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal, the Wizards have one of the best backcourts in the entire league, but the rest of their roster is a major concern and question mark. They do not really have anybody else on this roster that you can point to and expect immediate production, which is why some big roster changes could be coming to Washington this offseason.

Rui Hachimura is a really solid young talent, as is rookie Deni Avdija, who suffered a leg fracture late in the season, but Washington will be open for business in the offseason and look to be big “buyers” in terms of adding experience, reliable talent to their roster.

Westbrook and Beal take up a large portion of this team’s salary space and it would be hard for them to absorb a large contract, but one guy who could definitely help them out and add some much needed frontcourt help is Kevin Love.

The Cavaliers are going to be searching for places to dump Kevin Love and his large contract in the offseason and if Washington is interested, Cleveland will be willing to do whatever it takes to trade Love, no matter what they are getting back in return.

In a recent article, Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report outlined an offseason trade proposal that would send Kevin Love and a large package of draft compensation to the Wizards in exchange for an assortment of players.

Is this something that is actually feasible and something that could happen this offseason? Let’s take a look at what this trade between the Cavaliers and Wizards could look like.
