The Charlotte Hornets made some nice strides in James Borrego’s third season as head coach. While things ended disappointingly with a blowout loss to the Indiana Pacers in the 9th vs. 10th seed play-in game, there are some positives to take away.
Charlotte looks like they have a young star in LaMelo Ball to build around at point guard. Miles Bridges and P.J. Washington both played well alongside him in an up-tempo style of play.

Gordon Hayward came over from the Boston Celtics and had a solid first season in Charlotte outside of the injury bug getting him again. Terry Rozier left the Celtics the season prior and has continued his development into a strong two-way player that is lights out from the 3-point line.
The pieces are there for Charlotte to make another leap next season. Making the postseason and avoiding the play-in game should be a goal for the Hornets in the 2021-22 season. A few moves this offseason and that could be an attainable goal.
