This trade features two teams that have been in rumors all year long. Both the Indiana Pacers and Houston Rockets have been extremely busy on the trade market and they could continue once the playoffs are complete. It would be interesting to see these two sides get together for a deal, especially when including a player like Eric Gordon.
The Rockets wasted no time in making huge changes. A new-look front office came in last offseason and immediately sent Russell Westbrook to the Washington Wizards in exchange for John Wall. James Harden was on his way out next as he was sent to the Brooklyn Nets. PJ Tucker is gone and Eric Gordon could be the next veteran player traded. If so, the Pacers could have some interest.
When Harden was sent to Brooklyn, Indiana made a significant move with the Rockets. This is not the first time that these two sides have been linked. Houston quickly made a deal for Victor Oladipo and Indiana ended up with Caris LeVert.
In the end, it worked out well for Indiana. Now, they could be interested in another member of the Rockets. Gordon could be a perfect depth addition for their bench to help take them farther in the Eastern Conference.
Indiana is coming off a blowout loss against the Washington Wizards in the second play-in game of the postseason. If they decide to make some improvements, this trade could be near the top of their list.
Let’s dive in and take a look at what a potential trade for Eric Gordon could look like for the Pacers and Rockets.
