Jaren Jackson Jr. is not really helping Memphis:
Jaren Jackson Jr. is a fantastic player and is arguably the most talented player on the Grizzlies roster given his size and athletic abilities, but he has not been good as of late. He had some decent performances in the play-in tournament, but in Game 1 against the Jazz Sunday night, he was a non-factor for the Grizzlies.

I will give him credit for making a huge three-point shot with about 8 minutes to go in the game, giving Memphis a 15 point lead at the time, but that was just one of two shots Jaren Jackson Jr. made the entire game.
All game long, Jackson was extremely inefficient even though he had the upper-hand in terms of athleticism compared to the Jazz players that were guarding him. He finished the game with a plus-minus differential of -19, the worst out of any player that stepped on the court in Game 1.
Moving forward, it seems like JJJ will begin to see his minutes decrease if he cannot be productive early on in games, especially since Desmond Bane and Grayson Allen have proved to be effective.
The rookie Bane hit some clutch shots for the Grizzlies in the second-half and has been a key player for them all season long, which is why he could get the nod in a smaller rotation for the Grizzlies moving forward against the Jazz, who are notorious for taking and making a lot of threes.
