3 takeaways from Game 1 of Heat vs. Bucks playoff series

The first game of the 2021 NBA Playoffs did not disappoint as the Miami Heat and the Milwaukee Bucks squared off in a thrilling Game 1 that had to be decided in overtime after Jimmy Butler tied the game with a buzzer-beating layup at the end of regulation. 

In overtime, both teams with just over 20 seconds left, Goran Dragic for the Heat received the pass in the left corner after a missed three-pointer by Jimmy Butler and he buried his 5th three-pointer of the game to tie the game at 107.

After electing not to take a timeout, the Bucks took their time going down the court with the ball in Khris Middleton’s hands. With about 5 seconds left, Middleton began driving to the basket, stopped near the free-throw line, took a 19-foot fadeaway jumper and nailed it with 0.5 seconds left, ultimately proving to be the game-winning basket for the Bucks. 

If Game 1 of this series told us anything, it is that every single game between the Heat and the Bucks is going to be a battle and this series definitely has the potential to go seven games as a result. What else did Game 1 tell us about both the Heat and the Bucks?
