The Warriors narrowly edge out the Grizzlies in a game that comes down to the final few minutes

Memphis played a great game against the Spurs and they definitely deserve a playoff spot this year, but at the end of the day, only 8 teams make the playoffs. Unfortunately for Memphis, they are the 9th team in this equation and they are going to come up just short of beating the Golden State Warriors.

This is going to be a close game in the fourth quarter and it is going to come down to the final few possessions for either team, but at the end of the day, it is hard to bet against Stephen Curry and the Warriors, especially given how well they played against the defending champions Wednesday night.

With Draymond Green and Juan Toscano-Anderson being great defensive players in the low-post, as well as Andrew Wiggins contributing at a high-level on both ends of the court, everything is clicking for the Warriors right now, where there are still concerns for the Grizzlies.

Memphis got off to a fast start against the Spurs, leading 38-19 after one quarter of play, but then in the second and third quarters combined, Memphis only scored 34 points! They are susceptible to going into scoring droughts when their starters are not on the floor, which could be the turning point in this game against the Warriors.

When Steph is off the court, the Warriors also are not as productive, obviously, but other guys like Kent Bazemore, Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins stepped up and knocked down big shots when it mattered in the game against the Lakers.

Memphis’ bench only combined for 14 points against the Spurs the other night and with Valanciunas likely not to be able to play another close to 40-minute game, the Warriors should have the upper-hand in terms of impactful depth.
