The Eastern Conference will begin the NBA play-in tournament on Tuesday night and the Western Conference play-in games will continue on Wednesday night with the first game being between the 10-seed San Antonio Spurs and the 9-seed Memphis Grizzlies.

After missing the playoffs for the first-time since 1997 last year, the San Antonio Spurs face the Grizzlies in the play-in tournament and could wind up missing the playoffs for back-to-back seasons, something that has never happened before in the Spurs’ 54 year history!

For the Grizzlies, they find themselves in a “play-in game” format again for the second straight season after losing to the Portland Trail Blazers in the 8/9 matchup last year in the NBA Bubble. It seems like Memphis has been the “guinea pigs” for the league in terms of experimenting with the play-in tournament format over the years and this year, the Grizzlies are finally looking to make it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2017.

While both teams have been pretty inconsistent all season long, they both rank inside the Top-15 in the league in pace of play and with both of them being known as defensive-focused teams, it is hard to predict what will happen in this game!

We could see a lot of scoring, but we could also see a game that barely breaks past 200 total points! With that said, let’s try to break down this 9/10 matchup in the Western Conference and take a look at who I believe will wind up winning this game.
