Julius Randle – New York Knicks
I do not think there are any questions about if the Knicks are going to keep Julius Randle long-term! He has been their best player all season long and for the first-time in his career, he was named an All-Star.
Randle has been a huge part of the Knicks success story all season long and he is not going anywhere anytime soon! ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported Thursday that the Knicks will be in talks with Randle in the offseason about a big contract extension that could extend his contract for four more years, adding onto his current deal.

If Randle really wants to be a Knick for a foreseeable future, they are prepared to make that happen and this move makes total sense. This season, Julius Randle has averaged 24.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, 5.9 assists and has shot 46.1% from the floor, 42.0% from three-point range.
The 26-year-old forward is in an interesting position with the Knicks because while he is eligible for a contract-extension, he is still under contract for next season, as his contract is partially-guaranteed for $4M of the $19.8M for the whole season.
Windhorst went on to note that the Knicks can offer Randle a four-year extension with $106 million in guaranteed money and a maximum value of $140 million with incentives. This would definitely be a major upgrade in salary for Randle and it would be more money that he could accept now instead of waiting to become a free agent in 2022.
The Knicks want to keep Julius Randle long-term, but this potential contract extension comes down to whether or not Randle wants to remain in New York long-term. If the answer is yes, then this deal could get done sooner than expected in this upcoming offseason.
