There is no stopping Cunningham or Doncic in pick-and-roll sets:

Pick-and-roll sets have always been a big part of every team’s offense in the NBA, but now with the three-point shot being valued as high as it ever has been at the professional level, it is even more important to have competent guards when it comes to the pick-and-roll. 

Luka Doncic is one of the best ball-handlers in the NBA in pick-and-roll sets because of the way that he is able to use his body to make plays happen. As soon as he comes off of a screen, 9 times out of 10, Doncic tends to put the opposing defender on his back while keeping his dribble alive. He almost “seals” the defender behind him, allowing him to view all of his options offensively to set his team up for the most success in terms of scoring. 

Cunningham showed flashes of being able to do this in pick-and-roll sets at the college level, but the one aspect Cade Cunningham brings to the table in terms of being a great passer out of pick-and-roll sets is his length.

Cade Cunningham stands about 1.5 inches taller than Luka Doncic and with a 7-foot wingspan, he is able to make some passes over taller defenders that most guards cannot make because they are simply not as tall and length as Cunningham. 

Whether it is locking his defender up behind him, being patient when it comes to making the pass, or driving to the rim for an easy layup, Cade Cunningham has all the potential to be the best pick-and-roll ball-handler in this draft class, which is one of the aspects of his game that draws a lot of similarities to that of Luka Doncic.
