Outcome #2: The Chicago Bulls end up with the #1 overall pick
After trading for Nikola Vucevic at the trade deadline, the Bulls looked like they could be primed to make a late season playoff push, but with Zach LaVine being out due to health and safety protocols, the Bulls have lost seven of their last 10 games.
They are now 1.5 games back from the Wizards for the 10-seed in the Eastern Conference and with them falling quickly, it seems like the Bulls are going to miss out on the play-in tournament, giving them a chance to end up with the #1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.

If the season ended today, the Bulls would have a 5.3% chance to get the #1 overall pick, which is slim, but it has happened before! Ending up with the first pick and having the ability to draft Cade Cunningham would be enormous for the Bulls and give them exactly what they need in their backcourt.
Even ending up with a Top-5 pick would greatly affect this organization, but wherever they are drafting this year, they have to make the right selection. Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic are going to be a fantastic duo together, but they still need that third, high-level scoring option to be a true threat in the East.
Will Coby White step up in this role or will they re-sign Lauri Markkanen in the offseason to fill this void? Or maybe Chicago ends up with the 1st overall pick and they take Cade Cunningham to be that guy? Whatever the case may be, ending up with the first overall selection in the 2021 NBA Draft would be huge for the Chicago Bulls.
