Boston Celtics
The Celtics did not improve their frontcourt coming into the season, even though it was a great need. They are surviving in an Eastern Conference that is very top-heavy but they are not looking like the championship contenders that they have been in previous years. Danny Ainge is aggressive in the front office and we could see Boston involved in a big-splash trade to improve the frontcourt.
There are few better options than Karl-Anthony Towns that might be available. He would be an incredible pick-and-roll option with Jayson Tatum on the perimeter. Towns has the ability to pop out and shoot from deep or roll to the rim because of his great athleticism.
The Celtics struggle rebounding the ball this season. Towns would improve their defensive-rebounding ability right away. Some will mention Towns’ poor ability on the defensive end of the floor and this is something that will be exposed against some of the top big men in the league in the Eastern Conference.
When looking at the entire picture, this is not a deal breaker. Karl-Anthony Towns would create a big three with Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Having all three on the floor will bring the Celtics back to the top quickly.

It will be interesting to see what the Celtics would have to give up in this trade. Tatum and Brown are unavailable but Kemba Walker and some young prospects could be involved, including first-round picks. At the end of the day, it would be worth it for Boston to pull the trigger on this trade.
