Alperen Sengun
It seems as though every year there are certain guys that come on late and climb up draft boards leading up to the big night. This year, Alperen Sengun could be one of those guys. The 6-foot-9 big man spent last season playing for Besiktas in Turkey. He does not jump off the page at you like other prospects but Sengun has an upside that is very rare in today’s NBA.
Alperen Sengun does not face up or shoot the ball well. This automatically seems like a negative aspect at the next level. That is where a team like the Spurs could outsmart the rest of the pack. Sengun is not an athlete that is going to excite fans but his production speaks for itself. He played last season in the Turkish Super League and averaged 19.7 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.7 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game. That is what matters.
He is a tremendous rebounder and an already polished defender. At 18 years old, Alperen Sengun has plenty of time to develop and mold his game to the NBA. He will come into the league with skills that have been put aside and this makes him one of the most unique prospects in the draft.

Alperen Sengun seems like a San Antonio guy already. This is a franchise that could turn him into something and there is no doubt that he would be productive under Gregg Popovich. Sengun is a late first-rounder at the moment but he could be the player that continues to rise in the weeks and months leading up to the draft.
