Does this trade make sense for the Golden State Warriors?
If the Warriors are going to trade Andrew Wiggins in the offseason, it will likely be for a key, high-level talent that can come in and help them win a championship. This trade does not offer that, which is likely why Golden State would not think about dealing Wiggins to the Knicks, but there is definitely a ton of value to be had in this deal.
Not only would Golden State be getting two young players in Kevin Knox and Obi Toppin, but they would have the capability to add two more high-level, young talents to their roster with the two first-round picks they get in 2021 from New York.
Even better, the Warriors could add a third team onto this deal and flip these draft picks for a key, high-level talent that they will potentially be looking for in the offseason. The chances of this deal happening are again slim, but the Warriors would definitely have a ton of options after making this deal.

Wiggins is eating up a ton of cap space and by making this deal with the Knicks, they would immediately take over $20M off of their payroll, which could be huge for them to save tax money and be aggressive in future years either through a trade or in NBA free agency.
If the Warriors are looking for ways to add more young, high-level talents to their roster and have options moving forward, then trading Andrew Wiggins to the Knicks definitely makes sense, but it seems more likely that the Warriors will be keeping the young wing for the foreseeable future.
