This Mavericks-Pelicans offseason trade is focused on Kristaps Porzingis

The Dallas Mavericks shut down any rumors of trades involving Kristaps Porzingis at the NBA trade deadline. This does not mean that he is completely safe moving forward. There could be another blockbuster deal involving Porzingis in the offseason the New Orleans Pelicans could be one of the teams interested.

Kristaps Porzingis came over to Dallas in a blockbuster deal with the New York Knicks. This is a chance for another one to happen in the Mavericks could replenish some of the assets that were lost. Porzingis is affective when he is on the floor but that has been the problem during his time with the Mavericks.

Porzingis is an injury-prone big man and has struggled to consistently stay on the floor. This is where Dallas could get fed up and decide to send him away. There’s a lot to like about what he brings to the game alongside Luka Doncic, but if he isn’t able to bring it all that often, it’s at least worth exploring the trade route.
