Why This Trade Would Benefit The Boston Celtics
We saw the Boston Celtics get dominated by Bam Adebayo and the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals a season ago. This is why we thought they would make improvements following the series but they decided not to, outside of signing Tristan Thompson. This move has been completely underwhelming and we could see some more shake ups coming to following this year.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown lead the way for a Boston team that lacks death. Evan Fournier is in the final year of his contract and the front office will have a decision to make when the time comes. It would be smart for them to re-sign Fournier but they also need to look to improve their unit down low.
This is where Domantas Sabonis would take them to the next level. He has taken his game to the next level over the years and that is something that we can continue to see. Playing alongside more potent offensive threats like Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown would only further unleash Sabonis’ talent.

If the Celtics want to move toward a championship, they will have to make a significant changes. They were close last year but have taken huge steps back. It will be interesting to see what Danny Ainge decides to do once the season is complete.
The current landscape of the Eastern Conference calls for teams to be able to put up a lot of points in order to compete with the Brooklyn Nets. Having an interior threat like Domantas Sabonis who can take mismatches to task and be a fulcrum of the half-court attack as a passer would help to add needed layers to the Celtics’ offense in order to compete at a higher level.
