Why This Trade Would Benefit The Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers are a team looking to take that next step towards an NBA championship. Their play on the floor has them moving in the right direction and that can be beneficial for this season. Once this campaign is over, it will be interesting to see what Daryl Morey does come the offseason in terms of improving.
We all have seen that it takes stars to win in the league. The Sixers have that with Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. The duo is finally putting it together and the front office has put shooters with them on the perimeter. The addition of CJ McCollum would create a big three and add another shooter.
McCollum is an elite threat from three-point range and can get it done in many other ways. He’s a legitimate playmaking threat that would add new dimensions to the Sixers’ half-court offense and help them to better keep up with the offensive juggernaut that is the Brooklyn Nets.

Either way, CJ McCollum is making a ton of money, which means he would not be much of a difference financially. This move would fill a hole at shooting guard and give Philadelphia an elite option alongside Ben Simmons out on the perimeter. The pick-and-roll potential with Joel Embiid would be quite intriguing and further super-charge their offensive output as a unit.
The Eastern Conference is up for grabs and the Sixers are looking like they are going to contend for years to come. This is a move that would continue to point them in the right direction. It would be a way to “sell-high” on Tobias Harris after his great season by adding a backcourt piece that could be more impactful to help in a playoff run.
