This Bulls-Thunder trade gives Coby White a fresh start

The Chicago Bulls were extremely busy at the NBA trade deadline last week. They decided to buy at the deadline rather than selling like was originally expected. This was in hopes of the team making a run towards the postseason in the second half. When the offseason comes, the Oklahoma City Thunder could be the perfect trade partner.

Chicago is currently 19-27 in the Eastern Conference. With the current poor standing of the rest of the teams, outside of the top three, Chicago is just two games out of a playoff spot. They acquired Nikola Vucevic in a blockbuster deal that sent the likes of Otto Porter Jr. and Wendell Carter Jr. to the Orlando Magic.

With Billy Donovan as head coach, the Bulls have a leader to take them to where they want to go. They decided not to sell Zach LaVine or Lauri Markannen at the NBA trade deadline and now they could be looking to go in a different direction.

Coby White could be that direction. He is looking like the real deal and the Bulls could potentially flip him for a return. Oklahoma City is a team that would take a chance on a young player like White. They have made blockbuster deals in the past involving names like Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and Chris Paul.

Sam Presti has loaded up on draft picks over the next five years and some could be used to acquire a difference-making player. A move of that kind doesn’t need to be for a superstar since they have more than enough assets to do plenty of intriguing deals. This is a chance to strike an intriguing deal with the Bulls.

White would be the centerpiece of this deal. Here is what it might take to get it done for both sides.
