This Knicks-Wizards offseason trade is centered on Bradley Beal

One of the biggest storylines entering the 2020-21 NBA season was what would happen between Bradley Beal and the Washington Wizards and while they did not trade him at the NBA trade deadline, his future is still very much up-in-the-air. Both Beal and the Wizards have shut down all rumors about him wanting to leave, but his frustrations have been apparent this season and if they fail to make the playoffs, Beal could potentially request a trade in the offseason.

If this happens, almost every other team in the league will be trying to get their hands on the superstar shooting guard and the Wizards could ultimately wind up getting an “Anthony Davis sized” trade package for their All-Star guard.

Before the start of the season, the Wizards traded for Russell Westbrook to pair with Beal and while the two of them have been great together, the Washington Wizards do not have much talent on their roster at all. Rui Hachimurais a really solid young player next to them, but outside of him, the Wizards do not really have any high-level players that will help push this team into the playoffs.

If Bradley Beal does request a trade in the offseason, plenty of championship caliber teams will be inquiring about what the Wizards want for him, but the New York Knicks could actually be the team that could offer up the best trade package for the superstar guard.

New York is a huge sports market that could not only be appealing to Beal, but they have a ton of draft assets and young players they could offer up to the Wizards. Not to mention, they will have over $60M in cap space that they could use to acquire Beal and another All-Star caliber talent to pair with Julius Randle and R.J. Barrett.

After suffering for many years, the New York Knicks are finally back and this offseason could be their most important offseason as a franchise. They have the capability to make some huge moves to shake up the league, which is why they could potentially end up with Bradley Beal this offseason.
