3 way-too-early free agency targets for Lakers to consider

The Los Angeles Lakers are banged up at the moment. Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been struggling with injuries and this has caused the team to fall one spot in the standings. They are currently 30-17 and in fourth place in the Western Conference. This is not a big concern for the team. When healthy, the Lakers are the best team in the NBA and will be around come the conference finals.

The Lakers made a big move after the NBA trade deadline when they signed Andre Drummond after a significant build up was made of the move in NBA rumors. The big man agreed to a buyout with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Lakers ended up winning the sweepstakes in NBA free agency.

This will create a strong frontcourt when Anthony Davis is able to return. He will move to power forward and Drummond will man the center position. This is something that will help the Lakers contend for another championship this season.

In NBA free agency, Los Angeles is going to be a destination that is desired by many players. They have been linked to different players because they want a chance to win a championship. Despite their current standing, the Lakers are not perfect and have some needs like any other team — it is just a lot less.

They include some depth in the backcourt and prowess from three-point range. These are the type of players that the team could look to target once the season is complete.

Los Angeles has not looked ahead just yet considering they are looking to win another title. When the time comes, these three players could be on their list to acquire.
