Why This Is A Good Trade For Detroit

This is a good trade for the Detroit Pistons because they are able to abort an expiring contract while acquiring a promising young prospect. The Pistons are not in a position to win now, so adding a piece to potentially view as a long-term option could be a wise move to make.

The Pistons have one of the worst records in the NBA this season, but their season hasn’t been all bad. The Pistons love the potential they have in Killian Hayes and Jerami Grant has enjoyed a breakout season with the team.

Adding the young and talented KZ Okpala to the team could do a lot more good than harm, especially if the team is looking to compete in the near future. The Pistons have some solid pieces on the roster to begin building aorund, and adding Okpala to the mix would be a major upgrade.

Wayne Ellington isn’t in the long-term plans for the Pistons, which makes this trade a no-brainer.
