JJ Redick – New Orleans Pelicans

Last season, Dallas was a fantastic three-point shooting team, as they ranked 10th in the league in three-point shooting percentage during the regular season, but this year, they have struggled from deep and rank 19th in the league in three-point shooting this year. The Mavericks will definitely look to add a perimeter threat at the NBA trade deadline, which is why JJ Redick could be a real possible trade target for them and has already been linked in recent NBA trade rumors.

The 36-year old guard is nearing the end of what has been an amazing career shooting the basketball, but he can still contribute 20-25 minutes per night. For a team that does not have many perimeter weapons and needs more depth on the wing, JJ Redick could fit right in with Dallas, which is why they could pursue him within the coming weeks.

Not only is JJ Redick one of the best three-point shooters of all-time, but the veteran sharpshooter is currently shooting over 36% from three-point range. Outside of Maxi Kleber, Jalen Brunson and Tim Hardaway Jr. the Mavericks do not have many perimeter-oriented threats, which is why trading for Redick makes a ton of sense.

He is experienced and has been a part of many teams that made deep playoff runs, which is another reason why he can be vital to the Mavericks success during the second half of this season and in the playoffs. Redick knows what it takes to win and his veteran leadership is something that can make everyone on this team better.

Dallas made the playoffs last year but overall, this team is pretty inexperienced when it comes to playoff experience. Nobody on their roster has ever made the NBA Finals and overall, they do not have much combined playoff experience on their roster.

JJ Redick has been to the playoffs every single year of his career except last season with the Pelicans and he has even been to the NBA Finals once with the Orlando Magic in 2009. These are the kinds of players Dallas needs to make a deep run this season and in order to reach their full potential.

Not only can Redick step up and knock down some big shots on the court for the Mavericks, but he could help shape this team into a true championship contender for years to come. Dallas needs an experienced, veteran leader and they can get that from trading for JJ Redick.
