Why This Trade Would Benefit The Los Angeles Lakers
Los Angeles already has the best duo in the league when healthy with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. They have built a solid collection of role players but could look to improve from beyond the arc. This is something James has always had on his previous teams and the Lakers could follow the same mold.
Ellington is a bench player that could provide valuable minutes on a contending team. He is strong defensively but really excels from the three-point line. He knows how to find the open spot and would be the perfect player for James when defenses collapse on him in the lane.
The price of this deal makes it extremely intriguing for the Lakers. They would not have to give them a job and Dudley does not constitute a large return.
