This Cavs-Pelicans trade is focused on Collin Sexton

The New Orleans Pelicans have one of the most exciting duos in the NBA but they have not been successful just yet. They are currently 17-22 and falling behind a bit in the Western Conference. The front office could be looking to make a big move that takes the rotation to the next level. This is where another rebuilding team could be a trade partner.

The Cleveland Cavaliers could be that team. At 14-24, the Cavaliers are one of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference. They have been in rebuilding mode since LeBron James left for the Los Angeles Lakers and they have not come close.

Andre Drummond has been the biggest name on the trading block because he is in the final year of his contract. The two sides have been unable to reach an agreement which means he will be on the move soon. If Cleveland wants to make an even-bigger splash, they could look to move Collin Sexton.

This would be a nice deal for New Orleans because of their star power. Both Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson are turning into stars. Ingram signed an extension in the offseason and Williamson is one of the brightest young stars in the game.

At this time, the Pelicans do not have much else. They sent Jrue Holiday to the Milwaukee Bucks in the offseason and could decide to make some more big moves. The front office has to realize that they have some bright stars and need to be aggressive.

This is a deal that would certainly shock the fans of Cleveland but they could like the return. Let’s see what a potential deal might look like between the two sides.
