Why This Trade Would Benefit The Sacramento Kings
Sacramento is not that win-now team that the Lakers are. They are rebuilding and can afford to send away some veteran players in hopes of taking advantage of their value. If the return is some players ready to contribute along with draft picks, it is a no-brainer.
Kuzma signed a three-year extension with the Lakers in the offseason. This means the Kings would have control for two years following this one in hopes of keeping him around in the backcourt along with Fox.
Caldwell-Pope is another player who can get hot from deep if given the shots. Most importantly, Barnes is not viewed as a long-term piece for the Kings which means they could take advantage of his strong first half.

The Kings are just trying to become relevant once again in the Western Conference. They have the star player needed to get there and now it is about putting the right pieces around him. The front office certainly has their work cut out for them over the next few years.
