Why This Trade Would Make Sense For The OKC Thunder
This is a good trade for the Oklahoma City Thunder because it allows them to acquire their center of the future while shaving off a lot of hefty salaries as well. Marvin Bagley III could be a cornerstone for a rising Oklahoma City squad and this trade would quickly pay dividends.
The Thunder have been very impressed with the resurgence of their young stars in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luguentz Dort and the addition of Marvin Bagley III could create a very solid big three.
The Thunder have some young pieces to build around and adding Marvin Bagley III would only help their odds moving forward. He would also be able to slot in at the five spot with Al Horford not being a long-term answer at the position.

If the Oklahoma City Thunder made this trade and brought in a solid free agent or two this offseason, they could make an appearance in next season’s playoffs. The Thunder would certainly be thanking themselves later for making a trade like this.
