Why This Trade Would Benefit The San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs know that LaMarcus Aldridge is not part of the future which is why it would benefit them greatly to send him away. He still is in a value to where the team would get a solid return and clear some space for some other options. It will be interesting to see which direction they plan to go because they will certainly be some teams interested.
DeMar DeRozan has been the biggest name from the Spurs in NBA trade rumors because of his current contract situation. He is in the final year of his deal where he is earning $27.7 million. He will not return your free agency which means the Spurs will likely send him away so they could get something for him.
The same can be said about Aldridge. They would be able to replace him right away with players like Thomas Bryant and Robin Lopez. San Antonio is relying on their dynamic backcourt to be around for the upcoming years.
