This Timberwolves-Warriors blockbuster trade features Karl-Anthony Towns

The Golden State Warriors could be looking to make some improvements at the NBA trade deadline. They are back to playing some good basketball and it could continue if they decide to make a blockbuster deal. Golden State should reach out to a rebuilding team that is looking to sell and the Minnesota Timberwolves could be at the top of the list.

The Warriors have worked themselves back into the playoff race after a slow start. They are currently 19-16 and in the eighth spot in a very difficult Western Conference. Golden State got off to a slow start with Klay Thompson sidelined for another year with a torn Achilles.

The team is back on track and it is because of the elite play from Steph Curry. He is averaging 29.5 points per game and shooting 41.3% from the three-point line. The Warriors could use another weapon on the offensive end to take some pressure off their point guard.

The Timberwolves are heading in the complete opposite direction. They are comfortably in last place with a record of 7-28. Karl-Anthony Towns has missed some time this season but is back in the lineup and playing at a high level.

In 15 games, the big man is averaging 22.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per contest. The Wolves were led by Malik Beasley in Towns’ absence. Beasley is scoring 20.5 points per game. D’Angelo Russell is another name that could be on the trading block.

At this point, no one is safe in Minnesota outside of Anthony Edwards, who the team drafted first overall in the draft. Here is a blockbuster deal that could completely shake up the Western Conference.
