This Mavericks-Pacers trade features Myles Turner to Dallas

The Indiana Pacers are a team that definitely has the talent on their roster to contend come playoff time in the Eastern Conference, the only question is whether or not they can remain healthy. Over recent NBA seasons, injuries have been the demise of the Pacers and this year is no different. Their recent struggles make them a prime candidate to watch in NBA trade rumors.

T.J. Warren, who became a potential All-Star in the NBA Bubble last season has only played in 4 games this year before suffering a foot injury that required surgery and newly acquired wing Caris LeVert has not played in a game for the Pacers yet after having surgery to remove a mass off of his kidney.

It seems like Warren and LeVert are starting to get back to individual workouts, but their timetables are still up-in-the-air and they may not be back until April. This season, with Warren out, Malcolm Brogdon and All-Star big man Domantas Sabonis have elevated their play to the next level and have been sensational.

After first being left off the All-Star team, Sabonis will now be a reserve after Kevin Durant said he will not play due to a hamstring injury. This season, Sabonis has been a double-double machine and one of the better overall centers in the entire NBA. He is averaging 21.4 points, 11.4 rebounds, 5.9 assists and is shooting 53% from the floor.

With Sabonis and Brogdon leading this team, the Pacers definitely have a shot to be a great team late in the year, but Myles Turner has been a very inconsistent player for them. Other than being one of the best shot-blockers in the league, Turner has been a liability at times offensively and has been prone to turning the ball over this year.

Now in his sixth season with Indiana, Turner’s role on the offensive-end of the court has continued to decline, even with Warren and LeVert out, which is why he could potentially be traded near the NBA trade deadline. The Pacers may be hesitant to trade their Defensive Player of the Year candidate, but the Dallas Mavericks could be a team that looks to make a big move near the deadline.

Could the Mavericks look to make a statement move before the NBA trade deadline and acquire Myles Turner? Let’s take a look at one trade scenario Dallas could offer for the league leader in blocks.
