Here’s how the Celtics could trade for Kristaps Porzingis

The Boston Celtics have been rumored to be a team looking to make a big-time trade ahead of the NBA trade deadline. Many names have been linked to them, but Dallas Mavericks superstar Kristaps Porzingis is perhaps the most interesting. Porzingis would give the Celtics the star center they have been needing.

Over the past couple of weeks, rumblings out of Dallas have suggested that the Mavericks are looking to trade Porzingis. He has become a “high maintenance” player, just like he did before the New York Knicks chose to trade him to Dallas.

If the Celtics are interested in making a trade for Porzingis, there is one easy way to make it happen. Obviously, any trade would have to require a star heading back to the Mavericks. Boston can make that happen.

One trade was suggested that would make a ton of sense for both sides. It would be one of the bigger blockbusters that we have seen recently.

Boston Celtics Receive: Kristaps Porzingis and Trey Burke

Dallas Mavericks Receive: Kemba Walker, Robert Williams III, Grant Williams, 2021 First-Round Pick (Top-10 Protected), 2021 Second-Round Pick

Both teams would love the way they make out in this trade. For the Mavericks, they would be getting a star point guard in Walker to pair with Luka Doncic in the back-court. Walker has started slowly this season, but has been starting to get back on track.

Dallas would also be getting quality young pieces in both of the Williams’ and a couple of draft picks.

As for the Celtics, they would be getting a bonafide superstar big man. Porzingis would fit seamlessly alongside Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Walker is a great player, but Boston doesn’t need him. They already have two players capable of dominating the ball.

Expect to hear a lot more about Kristaps Porzingis in the coming days and weeks. The Mavericks may not end up trading him, but there is a very real chance he is moved. If he is really available, the Celtics should be all over this situation.
