This Bulls-Celtics trade is centered on Thaddeus Young to Boston

Over the years, the Boston Celtics have been a team that is always a top of the Eastern Conference and a legit title contender, but have not seemed to figure out what the problem is in terms of reaching the NBA Finals. They have not had a chance to fight for a title since 2010 and numerous superstar players being brought in has not solved the puzzle. Instead, they’ve remained committed to building around Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

With Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker all finally healthy and playing at a high-level, the Celtics absolutely have a chance to contend for a title this season, but are going to need to improve their bench and “supporting cast” if they are to take down the Nets or Bucks.

Currently, The Boston Celtics’ bench ranks 29th in the league in scoring this season and have not provided this team with the production they need to win a title. The two biggest problems Boston has had roster wise over the years is that they have not had a reliable bench and their frontcourt has been a disaster. As a result, they’ve found themselves being mentioned in NBA trade rumors ahead of the deadline.

They have not had a reliable big man since Kevin Garnett and while they have some great young talents in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, having two All-Star caliber players is not enough anymore in order to win a championship.

Signing Tristan Thompson this offseason was definitely a big addition to their frontcourt, but if the Celtics are to finally break through and make the NBA Finals this season, they are going to have to go after some key role players who can take a lot of stress off of their star players.

With that said, let’s take a look at a potential trade between the Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls that would send Thaddeus Young and another key bench player to Boston.
