Why This Trade Would Benefit The Golden State Warriors
It is no secret that the Warriors won their championships from the three-point line. This season, Steph Curry is leading the way and beginning to turn this team around. To keep up with the rest of the Western Conference, they will need to make a deal to add another star.
Jerami Grant seems like the perfect fit. He is a quality shooter from three-point range and can create his own shot in the midrange. From beyond the arc, Grant is shooting 38.4% this season.
During free agency, Grant was a hot commodity because of his ability on both ends of the floor. He would be a perfect fit alongside Steph Curry for what the Warriors like to do. Players like Wiggins and Kelly Oubre Jr. struggle from deep and have survived on athleticism.
Grant is under contract for two more years after this one and the Warriors could keep him around when Thompson returns. This is a chance for Golden State to lengthen their lineup and add another star. Grant has experience in the postseason and would be able to contribute right away.
