Al Horford – Oklahoma City Thunder

It is not secret that Al Horford is available for anyone willing to trade for him, but what makes him a sneaky, under-the-radar trade target is how good he has been this year.

After struggling with the 76ers last year and many around the league believing his career may be done, Al Horford has turned things around with the Thunder this year and is one of their best offensive players.

Al Horford is their second-leading scorer this year, averaging about 14.4 points per contest and is shooting over 40% from three-point range! The big question mark surrounding Al Horford though is his mega contract. He is owed $27.5M this season and $81M over the next three years.

For a 34-year old forward, this contract is not ideal for any team, but teams like the Hornets, Mavericks, Raptors, Knicks and Rockets could all show interest in the veteran big man since all of these teams are borderline playoff teams so far this season and could use a center like Horford.

Al Horford has never averaged less than 10 points per game over the course of a season in the NBA and this year with the Thunder, he is continuing the success he has had for over 13 years now. Being a reliable mid-range shooter and rebounder is what had made Horford a prime trade candidate this season for many mid-level teams around the league.

It’s clear Al Horford knows what it takes to win in this league and has been a part of some pretty successful teams over the years. Now in his 14th season in the NBA, Al Horford has been to the playoffs every single year he has been in the league and his playoff experiences could be extremely important to a handful of teams around the league.

Whoever wants Al Horford better have one or two first-round picks to trade because if we know one thing about Oklahoma City and their GM Sam Presti, it is that he loved acquiring first-round draft picks.
