Why This Trade Would Benefit The Washington Wizards
The Washington Wizards sent John Wall to the Houston Rockets in the offseason in exchange for Russell Westbrook. The front office got rid of one of their long-time players and Bradley Beal could be next before undergoing a legitimate long-term rebuilding process.
Washington would be deciding to build around Russell Westbrook as a stopgap in this deal, which is not the worst decision. He could restore his value being the lone established star on the team and help the Wizards eventually find a win-now team to trade for him.
The value surrounding Bradley Beal at the moment is incredible. There is no doubt that the team that trades for Beal will have to have some assets ready in the form of draft picks and rotation players. The Kings are one of the teams who could put together an intriguing trade package.
The Kings have that and then some. Buddy Hield and Tyrese Haliburton are an incredible start. Hield is shooting 37.3% from three this season while Haliburton is putting up 12 points and 5.6 assists per contest.
These are more than rotation players. These are above average players in the league that would not have to be the focal point of the offense but Haliburton has shown intriguing potential, in particular. They would benefit from this while taking pressure off Russell Westbrook at the same time.
Bradley Beal’s time has run out in Washington and it is obvious. The Wizards are a franchise with no direction at the moment but that could change quickly if they make a blockbuster deal such as this one.
