Golden State Warriors Receive: Kristaps Porzingis, Josh Green, James Johnson

Dallas Mavericks Receive: Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, Alen Smailagic, 2021 1st Round Pick (via MIN)

Kristaps Porzingis going to the Golden State Warriors would be a shock, just like it was when he went from the New York Knicks to the Dallas Mavericks. He would instantly improve the frontcourt and bring a new dynamic to the Warriors alongside Steph Curry and Draymond Green, if he is able to stay on the floor.

In this particular scenario, the Warriors would also land Josh Green and James Johnson here. Johnson is strictly for salary cap purposes and is on an expiring deal. Andrew Wiggins has revamped his trade value and his involvement would at least prompt the Mavericks to include Green.

The return would have to be large for a player like Kristaps Porzingis. Andrew Wiggins is one of the biggest trade pieces for the Warriors and will likely be on the move if they decide to make a big trade. There just isn’t the same appeal at other spots on the roster and Draymond Green remains an important fixture for this Warriors team.

James Wiseman would immediately replace Kristaps Porzingis in the frontcourt for the Mavericks and give the team a young core with Luka Doncic. The team would also get a first-round pick from the Minnesota Timberwolves, which is looking like it is going to be a good one.

Let’s take a closer look and see how this trade centered around Kristaps Porzingis would help both the Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors.
