Why This Trade Would Benefit The Boston Celtics
Boston has been near the top of the East for a few years now. They are one of the teams to beat but the conference has improved immensely since last season. Teams like the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers have taken a huge step forward and looking like the real deal. Boston will need to balance out there lineup in hopes of coming out of the conference.
That is where a trade for Valanciunas would come in to play. Boston is led by wing players like Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. They are off to all-star caliber starts with no signs of slowing down. As of now, Kemba Walker is still manning the point guard position but that is something that could also change at the NBA trade deadline.
The current contributions from Tristan Thompson and Daniel Theis are enough to make the Celtics look on the market for an improvement. Jonas Valanciunas is a hard-nose player with great experience in the league and has recently shown an ability to step out and shoot a bit.
This move will bring toughness and a new dynamic to the Celtics on both ends of the floor. Jonas Valanciunas would provide great minutes and be the enforcer that the team need in the low post. In an Eastern Conference led by Joel Embiid, this will be vital.
