Why This Trade Would Benefit The Chicago Bulls
The Chicago Bulls added White in the 2019 NBA Draft and he has looked like the real deal since entering the league. Outside of White, Chicago has had players like Ryan Arcidiacono and Devon Dotson play a handful of games at point guard. The point guard position is extremely important in the league and the Bulls could get an upgrade.
The Bulls are led by Zach LaVine and it’s clear that he has taken the next step as a player. He is averaging an impressive 27.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists while going 50.9% from the field and 40.9% from beyond the arc. When looking at this Bulls’ roster, they are not that unbalanced.
Otto Porter Jr. and Wendell Carter Jr. continue to produce and give the Bulls consistency. They know when White is on the bench, they do not have another solid option. This makes players like Zach LaVine take over the ball handling. This could be fixed with a player like Ricky Rubio.
Rubio has spent his career as an assist man. He knows how to setup the stars on his team in position to score. This would not make Chicago a championship team but it would give them more depth at the most important position on the floor.
