Why This Trade Would Benefit The Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been in rebuild mode since LeBron James left for the Los Angeles Lakers. They will likely send away one of their big men, if not both, moving forward. Collin Sexton and Darius Garland are guards that can be built around.
Everyone else on the roster can be traded at anytime. The Cavaliers know that it will take time to get this roster back to where it was and they will do so through the draft and by adding some young role players. That is what they would get in exchange for Cedi Osman.
The Cavaliers would also be able to provide more opportunity on the wing for Isaac Okoro. Cleveland made a significant investment to select him with the No. 5 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
Pat Connaughton and DJ Wilson are players ready to come in and contribute right away. They have been part of a winning culture in Milwaukee and could bring that over to Cleveland to help the younger players.
Very few of these players are in Cleveland were around in 2016 when James led the franchise to a championship. It is time to finally blow it up a bit and see what the team could get for some of their bigger names.
