Why the Celtics could go all-out to trade for Myles Turner

Over the years, the Boston Celtics have been a team that is always a top of the Eastern Conference and a legit title contender, but have not seemed to figure out what the problem is in terms of reaching the NBA Finals. They have not had a chance to fight for a title since 2010 and numerous superstar players being brought in has not solved the puzzle. Instead, they’ve remained committed to building around Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward, Isaiah Thomas and Al Horford are all big name players that have been a part of the Celtics organization over the years and all share the same fate with Boston — no championship.

The two biggest problems Boston has had roster wise over the years is that they have not had a reliable bench and their frontcourt has been a disaster. They have not had a reliable big man since Kevin Garnett and while they have some great young talents in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, having two All-Star caliber players is not enough anymore in order to win a championship.

Over the years, when you look at the teams that have won championships, they have all had great benches and key role players they can depend on to hit big shots outside of their superstars. This Celtics team literally has no reliable players outside of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker, which is why the Celtics are going to fail to reach the NBA Finals once again this year unless they make a big move at the NBA trade deadline.

They have been linked to Myles Turner in NBA trade rumors for years now and if the Celtics truly want to give themselves the best chance to win a title this year, they need to do everything they can to acquire Turner before the NBA trade deadline.

With that being said, let’s take a look at three reasons why the Boston Celtics should go all-out in attempts to acquire Myles Turner.
