This Hornets-Mavericks trade features Devonte’ Graham to Dallas

The Charlotte Hornets are led by their backcourt. They are very guard-heavy which means they have some flexibility to make a trade if they find and interested partner. The Dallas Mavericks could look to add another big-name player in hopes of turning it around this NBA season.

Dallas is 9-14 and near the bottom of the Western Conference. This was not expected this season. The Mavericks entered the season with hopes of competing come postseason time. This was because they have one of the top players in the league in Luka Doncic. He is averaging 27.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 9.4 assists per game. Kristaps Porzingis is back and healthy for Dallas. In 12 games, Porzingis is scoring 19.6 points per contest.

The Mavericks could be aggressive at the NBA trade deadline in hopes of adding a third big name. This is where Devonte’ Graham could come into play. Graham has started all 23 games for the Hornets and is averaging 14.3 points per game.

Charlotte used the third-overall pick in the draft on LaMelo Ball. He is off to a good start in his first season with 13.6 points and six assists per game. In the backcourt, Terry Rozier is the leader along with Gordon Hayward, who signed a four-year, $120 million contract in the offseason.

The Hornets could use some help in the frontcourt and have plenty of room to trade a player if needed. The Mavericks need the skill-set that Graham brings to the table alongside Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis and could offer some helpful players to Charlotte.

The Mavericks could be interested in one of their guards. Devonte’ Graham could be the name and he could end up in Dallas in a deal such as this.
