Terrence Ross – Orlando Magic
Since joining the Orlando Magic during the 2016-17 season, Terrence Ross has been a very reliable role player for them and has consistently been one of the better bench players in the entire league. This season, Ross is very much in the running for the Sixth Man of the Year award and could make a huge difference for the Celtics in the second-unit.
This season, Terrence Ross is averaging about 15.2 points off-the-bench, ranking him 4th in the league in bench points per game and he is shooting 35.3% from three-point range off-the-bench. He is currently the Magic’s 3rd best scorer, which could mean the Celtics would have to give up some key role players to acquire him.
With the Celtics having one of the worst benches in the league, not only could Terrence Ross join this team and make an immediate impact, but he could also be a key player in their closing rotation. His length and athleticism gives him the advantage over smaller defenders and with a bigger lineup on the court, Boston could have a deadline closing rotation if they were to acquire Terrence Ross.
He is not a high-level defender like Marcus Smart, nor is he a high-level scorer on the offense-end of the court, but Terrence Ross is more than capable of holding his own and he is a guy that you know what you are going to get from him night-in and night-out.
If the Celtics could keep Kemba Walker, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart out of trade talks involving Terrence Ross, then they should be willing to give up anybody else in order to acquire the 29-year old wing.
